Lawrence Pilcher, Candidate for Board of Education

As a 38-year resident of this wonderful town, I am very pleased to run for the Clinton Board of Education. My wife, Laurie, and I raised our 2 children here and they attended the Clinton Public Schools K—12 and graduated from Morgan. I am dedicated to upholding the fine academic standing of our schools. Recently, I became a substitute school teacher here in Clinton.
My background includes the following.

Education: Williams College, B.A.
                    Fordham Law School, J.D.

Military: U. S. Army, First Lieutenant
               Platoon Leader in Vietnam, 1970-1971

Civic: Commissioner, Clinton Housing Authority
           Coach, Youth baseball
           Previous town-elected to the
           Representative Town Meeting (RTM)
           Coach, Youth baseball

Career: Lawyer for 38 years, including 27 years
as in-house lawyer for the Connecticut
              Housing Finance Authority. CHFA has
              provided many home mortgage loans
              for first-time homebuyers here in
              Clinton.

Among my activities is going to many Morgan sporting events.
As a Vietnam Veteran, I am especially appreciative of the schools inviting the public to the Veterans Day ceremonies. I particularly enjoy the ceremony at Morgan which I have attended for many years.
