John Harrington, Candidate for Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate

John graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Civil Engineering and has been a professional Engineer in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. John, with his wife Mary, owned and operated Harrington Construction, developing property on the shoreline from Greenwich to Waterford.

John also worked as a Project Executive, Director, and Vice President for Northeast Utilities, Pfizer, Sanofi, and Electric Boat for over forty years, managing large real estate operations nationally and globally. John led complex design and construction programs, including large office buildings, medical R&D laboratories, vaccine manufacturing plants, and industrial buildings.

Some of the Teams John led included Capital Design and Construction, Plant Maintenance, Environmental Services, Employee Health, Safety, Logistics, and Security. In these capacities, John and his Teams worked closely with local and state police, the FBI, US Customs, ATF, and the DEP on various operational and regulatory challenges.

In a volunteer capacity, John has coached youth basketball, baseball, and soccer. He also has relevant experience working with the Madison Police Commission, the Economic Development Commission, and the Architectural Review Committee.

John feels he can add value to the ZBA Commission due to his experience and belief that Clinton has so much potential.

John is married with three grown children and eight grandchildren. He enjoys boating, fishing, platform tennis, and pickle-ball.
